Bought this book the other day at a book store above the farmers’ market I was shopping at. Haven’t had enough free time to read it properly yet, but so far its awesome, exactly what I have been looking for.

Cleaned up this side of the bed too, transplanted all that Japonica Kyoto grass (I think that’s what it is anyway) onto the bottom tier. Still looking for something to fill up the middle tier, preferably something colourful.

Cleaned up this bed, composted, and planted some Pennyroyal (which smells awesome, and will hopefully spread along the edges)

Planted quite a few bits this weekend: lettuce, watercress, tomatoes, parsley, radishes .. can’t wait for it all to start growing

Planted lettuce and watercress here today, and used bits of tile to hold the soil in those gaps in the side of the cinder blocks, going to transplant some herbs into there

This is a lovely idea, going foraging in my pantry for cans right now

Popped out onto the balcony this morning and to my surprise the spring onion and sweet basil I’d planted have started to sprout! Paprika’s are popping up like crazy as well, so very happy with developments. Must finish the new herb beds this weekend so that I can start splitting them soon.

The Plantation Garden.
The Italianate Terrace seen from near the Gothic Fountain.
After the 1939-45 war, the garden was virtually abandoned. Fortunately, much of the structure has survived, and is gradually being restored by the The Plantation Garden Preservation Trust.
